IITRAM Courses Admissions Fees Contact News 2018-2019:IITRAM Ahmedabad Admission List, Fees, Courses, Syllabus 2018-2019 Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management (IITRAM) provides Engineering Education with specialisation in Infrastructure and Management of Infrastructure to create centres of excellence, to organize advanced studies and to promote research. It shall foster cultural and ethical values with a view to enhance professional morality, research integrity, globally acceptable business ethics and morals for professionals.

Facilities:

Analog and Digital Electronics Laboratory: The electronics laboratory at IITRAM is developed considering all the necessary requirements for engineering students to grow in the field of analog and digital electronics. The prime goal of this lab is to provide “rich benefits of learning” to our students. The students fabricate their own circuit using bread board and electronics components. The lab is well equipped with standard and precise instruments such as signal generators, digital storage oscilloscope, power supplies and multi-meters. Each of these instruments undergoes various supervision processes to maintain standard measurement practice. The lab also comprises of trainer kits so as to facilitate verifications of the results obtained through the fabricated circuits. Lab facilities are available throughout the week in addition to scheduled classes.
Computer Lab: IITRAM has well equipped computer center with a Multi-processor server, Latest PCs, Wireless Networking Devices with all necessary licensed software and open source software. 20 Mbps leased line Internet facility is available in the campus; this bandwidth is served to the user devices through a Wi-Fi LAN. Network users are provided the facilities of individual email ids, sky drive, newsfeed, calendar, websites etc. through institute-wide Office 365 facility. Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (Moodle Software) is deployed to enhance the effectiveness of Teaching – Learning Procedure.
Control System Lab: The control system laboratory is designed and equipped to provide hands on experience to the students in the field of control engineering. The control system course is an interdisciplinary in the nature and hence the equipment and practical are also of the interdisciplinary nature. The laboratory contains the set ups for modelling, analysis in time and frequency domain, designing the control systems with root locus and bode diagrams. The laboratory also facilitates the students to carry out the simulation using MATLAB for the controller design and analysis.
Chemistry Lab: Chemistry lab is a required component of most chemistry courses. Learning lab procedures and performing experiments help students to learn techniques and reinforces textbook concepts. IITRAM has an excellent well-equipped chemistry lab for undergraduate courses and a modern and properly designed research lab, comprising fume hood, spot extractor like sophisticated instruments. All the experiments are designed in such a unique way to use environmentally less toxic or non-toxic materials. The experiments comprise a blend of physical, organic, inorganic chemistry so that students will have complete vision of wide range of chemical sciences. The lab is furnished with various instruments like pH meter, conduct meter, potentiometer, high accuracy precision balance and all types of glass wares. Both the labs are spacious to accommodate enough number of students. In addition to the glassware and equipments routinely used, chemistry lab includes Muffle furnace, Hot air oven, Teflon autoclaves, Distillation units and other facilities.
Digital English Language Lab (DELL): Digital English Language Lab is one of the state-of-the-arts laboratories at Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management which caters the needs of students to improve their language. To meet the global need of Standard English language, IITRAM language lab offers intense practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing (LSRW).
E Yantra Lab: e-Yantra is an initiative to spread education in Embedded systems and Robotics by IIT Bombay sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). This project was conceptualized by Prof. Kavi Arya and Prof. Krithi Ramamritham of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay.
Electrical Lab: Electrical Engineering Course has been designed to be the experimental companion to Electrical Engineering Lab of EE 1101. The course is planned to augment the students’ theoretical understanding of important logical principles by engaging them in the real world applications in the lab. The Electrical Lab also has further purpose of developing the students’ experimental testing and evaluating electrical circuits and systems. It is equally important that students have to develop their practice of using Lab equipment and simulation software like those of Industry. IITRAM Electrical Engineering Lab is fully equipped to provide excellence in practical knowledge building.
Environmental Engineering Laboratory: With rapid advancements in the field of built environment, Environmental Engineering strives to protect the one world we live in. Environmental Engineering deals with water and air quality, solid waste management, sustainable resource management, and environmental biotechnology, to name a few. With knowledge in the latest developments in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineers can positively affect the quality of life.
Geosciences Laboratory: To start with the Geosciences laboratory has procured commonly occurring rocks and minerals, which happen to be the principal earth materials. These include; (i) Set of minerals that exemplify typical properties such as ‘Mohs Scale of Hardness’, lustre, colour, streak cleavage, and specific gravity, (ii) Rock-forming minerals, (iii) Ore minerals, (iv) Industrial minerals and (v) Rocks and minerals used for construction: Dimension-stones, decorative-stones and aggregates.
Physics Lab: Physics laboratory is designed in a way to include experiments of various areas of physics such as optics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, mechanics, etc. The main purpose of this laboratory is to give Physics laboratory training to students for developing experimental skills and exposing them to modern techniques. The laboratory is equipped with state of the art instruments. Modern concept of computer controlled experiments is also introduced. Emphasis is given to the understanding of concepts of physics and to develop experimental skills in the students and expose them to modern techniques.
Hydraulics Laboratory: Fluid mechanics has a wide application in the field of engineering. To an engineer, thus it is crucial to study the basic principles and an application of fluid mechanics. To be specific, for Mechanical Engineering students, designing turbines, heat exchangers etc. are the study of interest. Structure for supplying water, such as irrigation canals, water supply system as well as storage structure like dams and protection against flood, that is flood wall are all fall within the scope of Civil Engineering. Designing the structures/ equipments, based on their area of application leads one to study the basic theory behind it.
Siemens Centre of Excellence: MoU is signed by IITRAM with the Siemens Industry Software (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd., Designates Systems Ltd. and the Industries Commissioner ate (Government of Gujarat) to establish Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the field of “Industrial Machinery”. The Coe comprises following labs: Advanced Manufacturing Lab, Process Instrumentation Lab, Product Design And Validation Lab, Mechatronics Lab, Electrical Lab, Automation Lab, Rapid Prototyping Lab, CNC Programming Lab and CIMS Lab
Workshop: The Mechanical Engineering Workshop at IITRAM consists of Fitting Shop, Carpentry shop, Welding shop, Machine shop and CNC shop. In addition to housing many conventional machines and equipment, it also has most modern fabrication units in tune with the recent technological developments. Some of these include TIG and MIG welding machines, Tool and Cutter Grinding Machine, CNC Turning and VMC etc. This workshop provides a safe environment for the students under the guidance of highly skilled craftsmen.
Carpentry Shop: Carpentry and joinery are common terms used with any class of work with wood. Carpentry deals with all work of constructional nature such as roofs, floors, partitions etc.
CNC Shop: Numerical Control (NC) is a software-based machine tool control technique developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in early 1960s. It has now evolved into a mature technology known as Computer Numerical Control (CNC). At IITRAM workshop students are trained in CNC part programming and CNC tooling at CNC shop.
Fitting Shop: The bench work and fitting plays an important role in every engineering workshop to complete and finish the job to the desired accuracy. The work carried out by hand at the bench is called bench work.
Machine Shop: The well-equipped machine shop of the workshop offers conventional machining processes for the practical, project and research purposes of the students of the institute.
Plumbing Shop: Plumbing refers to the pipe systems and the installed fixture in a home or in a building for the purpose of transporting water and getting rid of waterborne wastes. A craftsman may be perfectly proficient with the hammer, saw and other tools, but the faces difficulties with leaking pipes and overflowing toilets.
Tim Smithy Shop: Many engineering and house articles such as boxes, cans, funnels, ducts etc. are made from a flat sheet of metal. The process is known as tin smithy. For this the development of the article is first drawn on the sheet metal, then cut and folded, to form the required shape of the article.
Welding Shop: Welding is a process for joining two similar or dissimilar metals by fusion. It joins different metals/alloys, with or without the application of pressure and with or without the use of filler metal.
Wiring Shop: Wiring is the insulated conductor that carries electricity. The wire that is used in a building such as a home or a factory is called building wire. The wire inside a piece of machinery is usually called equipment wire. Wire is measured by its diameter.
Hostel:
  • Rooms: Rooms of the hostel are airy, spacious and furnished with basic necessities which include bed with mattress and pillow, writing table, chair and cupboard. Housekeeping facility is also provided by the institute.
  • Study Room: IITRAM Hostel comprises of an airy and spacious study room where students can sit, learn and plan their study time according to their convenience. It remains open for 24 X 7 and strictly remains as `silence zone`. Newspapers in different languages, Magazines and Journals are provided here for students’ awareness and for the development of their critical thinking.
  • Entertainment: After busy and hectic schedules, the Entertainment Area provides refreshing time to the students. Here they are provided LCD TV with HD Tata sky facilities.
Sports: Sports plays an important role in the all-round development of students. Focusing on this aspect, the hostel of IITRAM provides facilities of Following Indoor & Outdoor Games.
Club: NEST Club of IITRAM is involved in the ecological & greener methods to conserve nature and to spread & explore ideas & awareness for the conservation of ecology and nature. NEST club is established for making the students aware of four concepts from NEST – Nature, Ecology, and Surroundings & Trekking. Since the group was entitled into the IITRAM family, it has engaged all the students & faculties into the activities like a visit to a POLO FOREST, TRIO Environment Day Celebration, Tree Plantation Day, MOUNT Abu Trekking Trip & Green Glance Pantograph Competition. NEST organizes trips not for only fun & enjoyment but with the basic motto “An individual at once must lay into the lap of MOTHER NATURE. ” Such kind of ecological trip helps us to understand how our Ecology & Surroundings must be maintained and conserved.
Summer Internship: IITRAM has started new trend in the arena of technical education in Gujarat State by placing its first year B.Tech (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering) students for Summer Internship at industries/institutes all over India. This internship includes management and technical training for the students. The main motto of the summer training is to impart practical knowledge (Management as well as technical) to the students. They can use their classroom knowledge in the practical life which helps in improving the quality of technical education.
