Brad Hodge cracked an unbeaten 48 off 21 balls to help Rajasthan Royals chased down a mammoth 197-run target against Deccan Chargers in their IPL 5 match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Deccan achieved the target with two balls to spare when Dishant Yagnik hit the boundary to take Rajasthan to a stunning victory.
Amit Mishra dismissed Ashok Menaria, Ajinkya Rahane and Owais Shah in quick succession to dent Rajasthan Royals chase in their IPL 5 match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Mishra's magical spell brought Deccan back into the match after Rahane continued his good run in the tournament so far, scoring 44 off 31 balls. Maneria also played good knock of 20 runs and added 48 runs stand for the second wicket.
Chasing mammoth 197-run target, Rajasthan Royals suffered a big blow when they lost Rahul Dravid after putting up 50 runs in 4.5 overs against Deccan Chargers.
Dravid led the Royals chase from the front as he scored quick-fire 42 off 24 balls, smacking seven fours and a six. Daniel Christian struck to dismiss Dravid after the batsman shared 62 runs in 5.5 overs with Ajinkya Rahane.
Earlier, JP Duminy (58* off 26 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (52 off 43 balls) propelled Deccan Chargers to post a massive 197-run target for Rajasthan Royals.
Duminy added unbeaten 88 runs stand in 41 balls with Daniel Christian to power Deccan to mammoth total against Royals. Duminy reached to his half-century in 24 balls and his swashbuckling knock was studded with five huge sixes and three fours.
Christian also played handy knock as he remained unbeaten on 29 off 19 balls, smashing two fours and a six.
All Rajasthan bowlers went wicketless except Siddharth Trivedi and Brad Hodge. Trivedi struck when he dismissed Shikhar Dhawan to bring some smiles on dejected Royals players.
There was a huge sigh of relief for Dhawan after batsman found the form, making the first fifty of the fifth edition of Indian Premier League. Dhawan contributed 52 off 43 balls that included eight fours.
Brad Hodge gave Rajasthan Royals massive breakthrough when he removed Kumar Sangakkara.
Deccan Chargers got off to rollicking start as Sangakkara and Shikhar Dhawan put up highest opening partnership of IPL 5, adding 94 runs in 10.4 overs. Sagakkara played capatin's knock as he scored 44 off 32 balls, smacking five fours and a six.
Sangakkara and Dhawan took Chargers past fifty runs in 5.2 overs. The pair started hammering the Royals bowlers from the first delivery when Chargers skipper Sangakkara smashed to the fine leg region for four.
Earlier, Deccan skipper Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and opted to bat against Rajasthan Royals.
Cameron White made the way for JP Duminy in Deccan's playing eleven while Tanmay Mishra and Abhishek Jhunjhunwala have also been included.
The Rajasthan Royals have made just one change, bringing in Rajasthan Ranji wicketkeeper Dishant Yagnik in place of Shreevats Goswami, who pulled up with an injury just 15 minutes before the toss.
